Treat your TMJs with care as your entire smile depends on them! Your TMJs, also called your temporomandibular joints, are joints in your jaw that play crucial roles in your mouth’s ability to open and close. Due to the stress and wear that daily life places on your TMJs, it is easy for them to be damaged by a TMJ disorder, which can hinder your entire mouth’s effectiveness.

Numerous symptoms exist that can indicate your TMJs may be damaged, including irregular popping noises from your jaw, the inability to have full movement when opening and closing your mouth, pain within your jaw or in and around your ears, and deep pain when speaking, chewing, or yawning.

If you suffer from a TMJ disorder, meditative treatments such as yoga, calming music, and biofeedback can be helpful and beneficial as stress relievers. If you show signs of swelling, ice packs can be used. For excess pain, heat packs should be implemented. To prevent further damage from arising, avoid chewing foods until the TMJ has been properly treated by a professional.

Don’t wait until it’s too late for a TMJ treatment.
